As a young child growing up in a once flourishing town in the Rust Belt of Ohio, Laine Bachman always had an affinity towards drawing and painting. Her parents encouraged her creativity from the beginning which led to her attending art school in nearby Columbus, receiving a BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design in painting in 1997. Often inspired by myths and folklore, Bachman infuses the worlds she creates with archetypal imagery, underlying themes, and meticulous detail.

Once it’s time for the sun to go down, the captain stops at the perfect location to enjoy the sunset.

Tony Lewis, a drummer from the South Bronx, New York, has collaborated with renowned musicians such as Little Richard, Sting, and Cyndi Lauper. He has also worked with Rakim, Sam Moore (of Sam & Dave), Michael Hill's Blues Mob, and Craig Harris. His defining moment in choosing to play the drums came from watching cats and listening. His father used to play drums and would bring home Down Beat magazine.

Steve Swell has been an active member of the NYC music community since 1975. He has toured and recorded with many artists from mainstreamers such as Lionel Hampton and Buddy Rich to so called outsiders as Anthony Braxton, Bill Dixon, Cecil Taylor and William Parker. With over 40 CDs as a leader or co-leader, Steve is a featured artist on more than 100 other releases. He runs workshops around the world and is a teaching artist in the NYC public school system focusing on special needs children.

We are opening an hour early exclusively for guests with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and sensory processing differences to provide an opportunity exploring nearby lakes and faraway oceans in a comfortable and accepting environment. Not only will there be fewer guests but for that hour the Aquarium team also will limit the use of microphones, soften lighting and reduce noise to ensure a comfortable environment for all participants.
